
Rich “Goose” Gossage was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame today. Gossage, baseball’s premier reliever during the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, received 85.8 percent of the vote. At least 75% is needed for election.
Gossage ended his career with a 124-107 record, an ERA of 3.01, and 310 saves. Earlier this week Gossage said, “If I do get elected, it really does make my career.”
